Susie is motivated by the simple belief that humans are by nature designers. In addition to facilitating for Designing Insights, she coaches for the Executive Education program at the Stanford d.school and is a Fellow at the National Equity Project.
Susie is the founder of the K12 Lab at the Stanford d.school, where she investigated the role that design thinking could play in the education sector. This work helped catalyze a national movement to use design thinking as an approach to project-based learning and a toolkit for ed sector innovation.
She has also worked as a design strategist and innovation catalyst at Intuit, supporting innovators in the corporate software development context. Her early professional experiences include producing educational multimedia at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and for other Bay Area organizations, including the San Francisco International Film Festival, the Exploratorium, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum.
She has a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Technology Design from Stanford University and a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
