KQED, one of the largest public media organizations in the country, received a National Endowment for the Arts grant to expand the offerings of KQED Arts, a multimedia content service that showcases the breadth, depth and diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area arts scene. KQED needed digitally savvy consultants with knowledge of the local arts scene to conduct research and evaluation of the online events calendar space and present findings to executive and program staff.
We performed a competitive analysis study that considered mobile apps, websites, and print publications. The deliverable was a presentation to KQED executive and program staff, accompanied by a report analyzing the visual design, voice and tone, social media integration, features, and audience of numerous San Francisco and national offerings. The report was used to inform the planning of the expanded KQED Arts service.
